To Disassemble or Change Spools
1. Remove locknut, (by using the Locknut removal tool), or 7/16 wrench
2. Pull out handle arm.
3. Loosen and remove drag-knob.
4. Remove retainers and main spring (place in safe place such as
your hat or vest
5. Remove spool to expose interior parts.
6. Take Care not to lose Pawl Springs (#8); grease is used to keep
springs in place.
7. Reel # 3N is sent from the factory left-hand retrieve. Reel #'s
3, 4 and 4. 5 are sent right-hand retrieve. Please see warranty
card for conversion instructions if necessary.
8. Place flyline size indicator on the bottom of the reel foot. DO
NOT place on back of spool since they tent to interfere with the
precise drag mechanism.
